About MeÂ
My name is Crissy and I am a marriage and family therapist based in Birmingham, AL. I earned my bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of Alabama, where I continued my education to receive my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. During my time in graduate school, I provided therapy services at the Capstone Family Therapy Clinic, Sprayberry Alternative School, and Phoenix House Recovery Center. Through these experiences I have worked with a diverse population encompassing many stages of life. I am deeply honored to be a part of change for my clients as they grow and reach their goals. My goal is to create a safe, accepting therapy environment where I can help individuals, couples, and families reach their goals. Through authentic change in therapy, individuals become the version of themselves they want to be, ultimately becoming their best self in all areas of their life including their relationships with partners and family members.

About Bluberry
Bluberry (Blu) helps provide animal-assisted therapy to those that may benefit from it. She is an Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix that loves her job. Bluberry has completed her advanced training course which allowed her to learn essential skills and be a comforting helpful presence in the room. At the conclusion of her training, she successfully passed her Canine Good Citizens test. Therapy dogs like Bluberry provide nonjudgmental companionship, emotional support, and a calming presence during sessions. Bluberry can help reduce anxiety, build connections, increase focus, and provide support during difficult moments. During a session she can be found napping on her bed or joining you on the couch (if you ask her up there).

I understand that dogs are not for everyone, whether it be for allergy related or simply a lack of interest/desire in dogs. If you have would prefer not to have her in sessions for any reason, please let me know before we begin working together.
